Intro to Members
A Member is a community member who has been added to your Orbit workspace. They can be added automatically via an integration or the Orbit API, or can be added manually. To learn how to add members, go here:
Note that members are different from teammates. It’s worthwhile to mark teammate profiles to keep your reports clean. Check out this doc:
What can I do related to Members?
Once you add members to Orbit, there’s so much you can do! Here are our suggestions on how to get started.
View all members in your community
The best place to view all of your community members is from the members tab. This is the best place to filter, sort, and search through your community to identify potential ambassadors, beta testers, etc. Learn more about how to take advantage of the members table here:
Learn more about an individual member
If you connected integrations with Orbit, you’ll be able to see a lot of interesting data about each individual member on the Member Profile Page. This page includes info like their social media handles, a timeline of activities they’ve done, content they’ve created, and more. Learn more about what info you can see and how to make the most out of it here:
Edit a member’s profile
While looking at a member, you may find that you want to edit their information, add a missing activity, take notes, merge duplicate profiles together. These docs will help keep you organized:
Divide members into groups
While exploring your community, it may help to divide your members into different groupings. Some easy ways to do this are via Tags, Saved Views, or Lists. Learn how to use these options via the following docs:
Take action on a member
Once you find an interesting member in your workspace, Orbit allows you to do something about it. We have a number of actions that you can perform on the member to support their community journey. Read the docs below to check out what you can do:
