Tags
Tags are great for storing info more permanent info about a member that you may want to filter by in the future. Tags can be used on Reports, Activities Timeline, and the Members table to filter these pages down to a subset of members.
Examples of good tags includes: Discord Member, Prospects, Event Attendee, Community Ambassador, etc.
In this article, weβll go over how to add tags, remove tags, and manage tags.
Add tag to members
There are 3 main ways to add tags:
- One-off
- In bulk
- Automatically
Weβll go through all three to get you oriented.
Add a one-off tag
One-off tags are useful when:
- You are curating a list of individuals to attend an event (e.g. Meetup-attendee).
- You just had a call with a community member and want to add tags to their profile (e.g. Prospect, Potential-Ambassador)
- You are developing your Ambassador program and want to tag individual members (e.g. Ambassador)
Check out our article here about how to add a one-off tag:
Add tags in bulk
Adding tags in bulk is handy when you want to tag users who share a few filters in common (e.g. tag members who attended an event + joined the Discord as βAmbassador-Candidatesβ)
To do so,
- Go to the Members Tab.
- Select the filters you want to use on the table
- Select the members you to add a tag to using the checkboxes.
- Select Actions β Add tag
- Write in the name of the tag youβd like to apply. Click Save.
If you want to select everyone that matches your filters, click Select All.
Add tags automatically
Auto-tagging is a great way for you to keep your workspace organized without spending a lot of time. Itβs great for cases like:
- Tagging Product Users after they sign up for your product.
- Tagging Past Event Attendees so you can keep track of people to invite for future events
- Tagging users part of Target Companies to keep track of how theyβre doing
To auto-add a tag,
- Go to the Workflows tab
- Click Add Member Tag
- For workflow step 1, filter for members you want to tag.
- For workflow step 2, enter the tag(s) you would like to add to members that match your filter criteria. You can create new tags or add an existing tag.
- Click Run Workflow
Note: Currently, we do not show you a dropdown of your existing tags to choose from. Go to your Tag Manager (under Settings β Tag Manager) to make sure you match the right tag option.
Once you are done and press Run Workflow, it will immediately run on matching members. After that, it will run daily. You can see this run and your new workflow in the Workflows list on the Workflows tab.

FAQ
What should I do if I canβt auto-add/remove a tag that way that I want to?
If the in-app UI isnβt enough, you can also add and remove tags automatically using Zapier. To get started, in Zapier β when youβre setting up an action, navigate down to the member tag section. It should have:
- an option to add tags
- an option to remove tags. This would erase any and all tags on that member profile.Β Use the destructive one with caution so you donβt inadvertently delete data.
